frizzen
Frizzen investigates momentum, presence, and the relational dynamics of sculptural form. The work uses Strentex, a non-woven material, whose inherent flexibility and texture allow it to respond to both structure and environment, producing a sense of vertical presence while retaining lightness and openness. Verticality guides the sculpture through space, creating encounters which position the viewer in dialogue with scale, posture, and environment. Fragmented, modular, and layered, each section maintains its individuality while contributing to the ensemble as a whole, allowing tension and provisional connection to emerge. Through stretching, layering, and manipulation, the material is transformed, enacting a subtle alchemy where surface, weight, and gesture shift to generate new relationships, perceptual experiences, and dynamic interactions between components.
